CHECKING CLINIC

The focus of the clinic is to give every player the proper tools and confidence to both deliver and receive a body check in a fun and positive environment. Players are grouped according to their skill level so that they get the most out of the program. Putting the players in skill specific groups gives the players more confidence and more opportunities to practice their skills at a game related pace.

All areas of checking will be covered with emphasis on a safe and responsible approach to body contact. There will be detailed instruction on the proper techniques of giving and receiving a check, how to use the boards for protection, angling, riding-out, hip and shoulder checks, balance, timing and anticipation.
